Problem with canonical URL

Yoast SEO should allow you to decide whether or not to have a trailing slash since the plugin bases the canonical URL on the permalink structure. When it ends in a trailing slash, it should output one. If the trailing slash is not in the permalink structure, it should not.

Please confirm that there is no trailing slash in your permalink structure and that you’re using Yoast SEO 16.9.

2. I’m using Yoast SEO 16.9.

Maybe you know about this issue:
My permanent links with “/” at the end.
But my website generates 2 url with “/” and without “/” :
1. domain.com/category – with 301 redirect
2. domain.com/category/ – 200 OK

Does Yoast Seo generate the same URL without the forward slash? Im trying to find where the issue hides.

The Yoast SEO plugin should utilize whatever settings you have in your WordPress permalink structure.

For that specific issue you are mentioning, the Yoast SEO plugin shouldn’t affect or enforce if a trailing slash should or should not be used for where your URLs would be loading. Perhaps this forum thread might be of more assistance as a reference.
