Problem with canonical links and pagination in Divi Theme

Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out!

I wasn’t aware that Divi did pagination on their blog page with AJAX requests and ?et_blog. But Yoast SEO can’t change the canonical on a page where the content changes with AJAX. Please check with Elegant Themes how you can combat this. Maybe a better solution would be not to use their blog module but use the native blog/archive pages that WordPress create.

But https://www.domain.com/blog/page/2/ is available too. ?Is possible to change the url in Yoast according to this?

for me it is showing the xxnd page as the canonical…

is this how you mean, or you need all xx pages to go to page 1?

@divithemeexamples domain.com/blog/page/2/ is an example, not my web. In my web i don’t see this.

sorry, that was for woocommerce pages.

my blog is the same as yours with all “pages” having canonical as the main blog page because there is only one page and the “pages” of posts get loaded into that main page. doubt there is any solution to that using the divi module.

Typically, we’d expect Yoast SEO to output a self-referring canonical on a paginated archive of your blog or other post types. See https://yoast.com/pagination-seo-best-practices/

I do see that all those paginated pages only show the canonical to /blog/ and also not include a <link rel=”next”> <link rel=”prev”> – so that’s also a thing. Maybe this is a Divi issue?

One thing on the Yoast SEO side you can try is to reset the indexables and see if that makes a difference. You can do this with the steps provided here https://yoast.com/help/how-to-reset-yoast-indexables/
