I connected both my WP websites to your hub yesterday. Then I ran Broken Link Checker on both and had issues each time. I’ll use ohgrealty.com as an example. This is a very basic site containing only fourteen pages, yet somehow your tool finds nearly 520,000 links associated with it. Additionally, it reports seventeen broken links, but only one was truly broken. It was a case of my changing a permalink on my main site and forgetting to adjust for it in the link back on ohgrealty.com, and this has now been corrected. Can you check to see why your tool reports such an incredible number of links when I expect a couple of dozen at the most, and why more than 90% of the links it reports as broken are not?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @aakrealtor

I hope you are doing well.

The Broken Link Checker on the cloud version will scan the front end differently than the local engine that scans the database so it is expected to cloud version finds more links.

On your website, some of the external links have the noopener but it is not setting the nofollow https://monosnap.com/file/gPQKNwMRPjp15D6VIDI62tlwDGucuv to prevent the BLC or even Google to crawl and associate the content of the external site as your site. It can prevent the service from trying to crawl unwished pages.

This also can help your SEO.

As I explained it will get the content from the front end, so if we check a single page on your site it has around 117 links:

So the number of links found is actually normal.

About the report, I checked your HUB but I saw your site as not using the Cloud version right now.

Note the Broken link checker will return to you the report that our crawlers got, if for some reason any firewall or anything blocks the request on specific links it is possible will return a false positive and after manually checking it is safe to ignore.

You can find out more about the link status code on: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/broken-link-checker/#broken-link-status-codes

Could you please double-check if the WPMUDEV dashboard is connected and the Broken Link 2.0 engine enabled if so, we can run a new scan from our end to verify the reported links and give a more accurate response.

    Best Regards
