Problem with bbPress

I love this plugin and it works fine on pages and posts but doesn’t do anything on bbPress topic pages. I know this may well be a bbPress issue but am totally unable to leave a message on their support pages despite hours of trying – do you have any ideas what the problem might be? I changed the theme to 2011 and that doesn’t help
