My client sells single item products and backorders are disallowed. The problem is that products can be purchased by multiple users minutes apart, even after the first sale is completed. I am unable to replicate the issue but it happens during “sale” events which draw hundreds of users to the site.

Also, there is no site or server caching.

    Any insight is appreciated!

In this case, your client can enable stock management. This means customers will only be able to purchase the items based on the stock available.
You can enable that using this guide: https://woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/#products-inventory-options

Sorry, the solution is not that simple. We already have stock management enabled for all products.

    Hi @bigmoxy,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The problem is that products can be purchased by multiple users minutes apart, even after the first sale is completed

This is not possible with the default WooCommerce core functions. As you can see here, once a customer purchases the last item in stock, another customer can’t complete the checkout for the same product and a warning message appears on the checkout page:

So your client must be using a tool/plugin/custom code to override the default functionality.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately what you are saying is only the theory. The reality is we are seeing this happen. There is no custom code that overrides native functionality.
