Problem with avatars…

Define “regular wordpress account”.

sorry… when i go to https://www.wordpress.com and login to my account, i’ve got the ability to uplodad an avatar for my username… when i got to https://www.talkflop.com (where i’ve got wp 2.6 installed) i have the same admin interface, but i don’t see the ability to upload an avatar…

That’s a different softwer on a different host (I mean the wp.com).

Furthermore, since 2.5 the gravatar feature is there in WP, if you have a https://en.gravatar.com/ account.

You don’t have the ability to upload an avatar. Those are not hosted locally, they use the gravatar.com global avatar service.

WordPress.com uses gravatar.com too, but since they own it, they integrated their site a bit closer with it.

so if i’m reading this correctly, if i’ve got an account with gravatar.com then my avatar should be showing up on this page (i’m “admin)
