• Hi,

I bought the pro version for Auto Affiliate links and encounter a problem with the auto-generated Amazon links with your API. (I tested only with Amazon at that time of writing).
When I go the tab “Generated Links”, I can see the list of posts and associated keywords/links generated by the plugins.
There a lot of cases where the plugin told me that he add links on some specific keywords but when I go to the post, I could not see at all the selected keywords nor the added link in the content.
So, I’ve checked the source code and can see that the chosen keywords by the plugin exist but in the image title meta…then just after the image I can see some code injected by the plugin.
For me, it looks like a little bug as the plugin shouldn’t check inside the image title/alt to search for keywords.
Did I miss something? Is there a way to avoid this and let the plugin focus only on keywords available in the content of the posts?
    Thank you.

    Hi Lucian,

Thanks, if you need more info, tell me.

Can you please give me your website URL so I can check closely what is happening. It should not add links inside other tags and I need to replicate the issue so I can find the solution.

    Hi Lucian,

Here is a good example. Check this post: https://www.1001pallets.com/2015/11/giant-shoe-rack-pallets/
In this post, the plugin told me that he added links to those Keywords: Giant Shoe Rack, Pallets Pallet Shelves, Pallet Coat Hangers,
each one link to a different Amazon product.
But, when you check the post, the keywords above are not presents in the content. Now, open the inspector and check the image: The title of the image (as the ALT) contains all those Keywords, the title is: “Giant Shoe Rack Made Out Of Discarded Pallets Pallet Shelves & Pallet Coat Hangers ”
and below the image, you can see a div added by your plugin: aal_api_data with some data.
So, the links are not present, but this result in 3 calls to your api for 0 links.
Hope this help. And I must add that I have some code that re-write the title & alt fields of the images with the title & categories of each post, this to maximise SEO on images.

Hello. Probably the usage of plugins to replace image title and plugins like lazy load confused the AI on our servers. I’ve added some extra checks. Please give the plugin few moments to regenerate links and let me know if you still encounter the same problem.

Thanks Lucian, just to understand well, you’ve made some update on your server, no plugin update needed?

    (@thedark)

The links for the pro version are processed on my own servers and in this situation I only updated the scripts server side.

    Hello,
After approximately one day, it seems that the modifications you have done are not working as now I don’t have any automatic generated link in any post…looks like something went wrong?

    Plugin Author Lucian Apostol

    (@thedark)

Hello. Prior to the update you had any valid links on text and not in the image title ?

    Thread Starter Recyclart

    (@recyclart)

Yes, previously to the update, I had some valid links on text. Most of them was not valid as on image title but I would say that 10% of them were valid.
Now, I didn’t have any post listed in the report, which is strange, I have a good amount of traffic and should have seen some posts here.

Hello. Have you changed anything to your plugin settings ? What is your link frequency ? Can you send me a screenshot with your Auto Affiliate Links -> General Settings page ?

    Plugin Author Lucian Apostol

    (@thedark)

Do you have any caching plugin enabled ? It might prevent keywords to update. Another issue, when I check you page source ( the one that you gave as an example ), the javascript file that should extract the links is not present, despite the div that should be used by that js file is present. This might be due to plugins that get content from elsewhere.

Do you have wordpress multisite ?

    Thread Starter Recyclart

    (@recyclart)

    Hi,
I didn’t change anything to the plugin settings and my link frequency is at high. I have a cache plugin enabled (WP-Rocket) and it’s not a wordpress multisite (but I’ve tried the api on another site not same wordpress/server).
I just check and there is one post now, with one link created but keyword not in the content, like before the plugin use the image title.
How can I send your pictures?
What is the js file that is not present as I can exclude it from my cache plugin to check.

    Plugin Author Lucian Apostol

    (@thedark)

    The javascript file is wp-auto-affiliate-links/js/api.js

Right now I think that new liks are not generated because the caching plugin serves the old version of the pages. How long a page is kept in cache by wp rocket ?

    Thread Starter Recyclart

    (@recyclart)

Ok, I’ll add the file to wp-rocket. It really depends, there a lot of rules to delete a cached page. In general is 96 hours but today I’ve deleted all the cache several times due to some modifications on the site.
