• Hi,

Having a problem getting Arabic to translate correctly. It translates into Arabic characters OK except the formatting stays left to right. Arabic is a right to left Language.

DOn’t know if it is a theme issue (Cyberchimps Responsive) or if it is a plugin or Google issue. If I copy and paste the translated text on my page to the Google translate website directly it automatically renders to right alignment. Have tried with another WP theme (twenty twelve) but same result.

Maybe some sort of “if” arabic statement align right in the custom CSS of the plugin?

I saw in another post in this forum one of the plugin users at this website https://www.catsimulators.com/ (Click on the green arabic flag at bottom) has the same issue, Text is translated to Arabic but is still left to right formatting.

    Many thanks

    PS1

OK. Took the above link in English and pasted that directly into the Google Translate website. The Arabic text then aligned correctly to the right so not the WP theme. Narrowed it down to being Google or the plugin

Looking at trying to edit the css of the plugin with some sort of ‘if’ statement when Arabic is selected to align right?

    Thanks help still needed.

Still no luck resolving this plugin error. Plugin is virtually unusable at this stage. As I cannot omit just Arabic and Hebrew and have only left to right languages as we will be called racist.

Hi ps1, I have responded to your message by email.

For the entire time this translation widget has been in existence, I have always seen Arabic produced in left-to-right text direction, at least with their website tool.

Google Language Translator simply adds this free-standing tool to WordPress websites. At this point, I do not have any styles overriding the default text directions, so I assume this is probably a Google issue. I will check further into this.

Also, the copy/paste version of the Google Translate page you are using is obviously producing different results, although I’m not sure why. Maybe by going through their webpage, they are not as worried about text direction affecting the look of your website, so there’s a chance they just leave the direction left-to-right.

Again, the website translation tool is supposed to work on it’s own, whether it’s being used through my plugin, or copied/pasted directly from their website.

Let me know if you would like to work together, in order to test the default code provided by Google, and then we can see for ourselves if Google is failing to add text-direction styles here.

Thanks so much, and I’m sorry for lack of response in the past weeks.

Hi ps1, just FYI I have not yet looked into the Arabic language display issue. But that is on the list to be worked on. I’m sorry, as of now it just has not been an issue among users, so I have to focus on the other pressing issues at hand.

I will not forget about this – I’ll see what I can do to make this happen.

Thanks so much for using the plugin on your website.
