Problem with adding themes/plugins from dashboard

Everytime I try to add a theme or plugin from the dashboard, I type in my ftp credentials.. and it gives me this error “Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).” I can get into the FTP itself and upload themes. But it’s a pain.

Any way to fix this short of reinstalling WordPress? Or would that even fix it?
