• I wish to have a static front page without any columns or footer. I assume that the best way to do this is by creating a new page.php template. However, the theme I’m using does not provide the option to use anything other than the default page template when creating a new page. How can I get the page in question to follow the rules of my new page template without this option? Please forgive if this has been covered somewhere, I’ve searched the codecs and not found anything and would of course be happy just to be pointed in the right direction. many thanks!

Please anyone – help would be so much appreciated! Just a pointer like!

When you create the template and add it to your theme, then you should be able to select this template when composing a new page in the admin area of the blog. Have you already created and uploaded the template you want to use?
