    We upgraded to 9.2.0 and it broke our site (gave us critical error pages in the whole back-end). I have now downgraded to 9.1.3 which works perfectly.

    Here’s what we see in our error logs on 9.2.0:

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function has_cap() on null in wp-content/plugins/quiz-master-next/mlw_quizmaster2.php:766#012Stack trace:#012#0 wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(324): MLWQuizMasterNext->qsm_add_user_capabilities(”)#012#1 /wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array)#012#2 wp-includes/plugin.php(517): WP_Hook->do_action(Array)#012#3 wp-admin/includes/menu.php(161): do_action(‘admin_menu’, ”)#012#4 wp-admin/menu.php(412): require_once(‘/nas/content/li…’)#012#5 wp-admin/admin.php(158): require(‘/nas/content/li…’)#012#6 wp-admin/edit.php(10): require_once(‘/nas/content/li…’)#012#7 {main}#012 thrown in wp-content/plugins/quiz-master-next/mlw_quizmaster2.php on line 766

    Is there something that has to be done before upgrading to fix this error?

    Hi there,

    I hope you’re doing well, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

    Regarding the issue you encountered after updating to version 9.2.0, I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. I truly appreciate your initiative in downgrading to a previous version in the meantime.

    To resolve the critical error message you’re facing with the latest version, I kindly request you to follow these steps:

    After updating to the latest version, if you’re unable to access the WordPress backend, please use FTP to delete the QSM plugin from the wp-content folder.

    Once you’ve done that, you should be able to log in to your WordPress dashboard.

    From there, reinstall and activate the latest version of the QSM plugin directly from WordPress.

    Please let me know if this resolves the issue. If not, we’ll take additional steps to ensure the problem is fully resolved.

    Thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Best regards,
    Sadiya

    I saw that you had released version 9.2.1 after I submitted a support request, so I tried upgrading to that version and it seems to have solved the issues with 9.20. So, I think we’re good now, but thanks for following up!
