    Hello,

Our client has Stylemix LMS and wants 2FA activated. We’re Wordfence and have 2FA enabled, but when trying to login, the error message ‘Incorrect password’ is shown.

I contacted Stylemix, but they told me they use the default register/login processes.

    Can anyone help me?

    Hi @pixeltheo,

It’s possible that you’re using an incompatible plugin or theme that modifies the login page and you cannot see the “2FA Code” prompt.? You can enter a two-factor authentication code directly after your password, in the same field.? For example, if your password is w0rdf3nce#! and the code is 233455 then enter w0rdf3nce#!233455.

If this doesn’t allow you to log in, you will need to temporarily rename the Wordfence plugin folder to deactivate it:

    • Please use FTP/SFTP or any file manager that your web host provides via their administration panel.
    • Check inside the /wp-content/plugins/ directory and rename the wordfence directory to wordfence.bak.
    • After you’ve logged in to your WordPress admin, you can name the folder back to wordfence again.
    • Refresh your dashboard and Wordfence should be active again. If not, go to the Plugins page and activate it.

Once you’re logged in, please try disabling all plugins except for Wordfence to see if you are able to stop this behavior. If it stops, re-enabling your other plugins one-by-one will help you identify when the problem starts reoccurring. Failing that, also try switching to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-Four and try again as custom Javascript in themes can also cause conflicts. You can install a maintenance mode plugin during this time if site visitors are likely to be impacted during testing.

    Thanks,
    Margaret
