Problem viewing article extract

Hello,
How to show only the extract of the articles of the categories?
Setting is well set on item extract. But that does not work!
If a person has a solution to see only the excerpt of the articles.

There’s no sitewide setting in WordPress for only displaying excerpts on archive pages. The setting often mistaken for that, “For each article in a feed, show” in Settings > Reading, only modifies the behaviour of the RSS feed for your site.
To change the text displayed in previews on archive pages in Lovecraft, you will have to add a Read More tag in the location where you want the “Read More” button to appear in your posts.
