• Have been dealing with this for a day or so.
Everytime I try to upload image to “Comic Press” I get this message:

“The following files were not uploaded, or the permissions on the uploaded file do not allow reading the file. Check the permissions of both the target directory and the upload directory and try again: 2011-04-09-god.jpg”

As you can see, I believe the file is named correctly. I have checked my servers permissions so I assume it is a problem with Comic Press.
    Any advice would be welcome!
    Thank you for any help,
    Tim

  • If you’ve checked permissions and tried setting your upload folder & sub-folders to 777 and it still doesn’t work, you may want to contact the Comic Press developer directly – https://comicpress.org/forum/

If they don’t think it’s a theme issue you could always try the usual troubleshooting tasks – turn off all plug-ins, switch to default Twenty Ten theme temporarily, manual reinstall of WP.

I’m having the same issue, but on a localhost using XAMPP on Windows XP. As far as I know there’s no way to change folder permissions in this setup.

I am able to use the built in wordpress image upload feature, but not the comicpress comic manager plugin to upload, and they both deposit images in the same folder.

    any ideas?
