Problem Upgrading to 3.0.1

    I want to do a little development offline.

    I have a PC with Windows 7.
    I have installed IIS 7.5, SQL Express 2008, PHP 5.3.3 and wordpress 2.9.2

    It works fine until I try to upgrade to 3.0.1

    If I try the automatic upgrade, it reports that I have the most current version.

    If I try the manual procedure, I get error establishing a database connection.

  • I experienced the same. But my wordpress went back to work a few minutes later… Hope the same will happen for you.

    My theory is that its an internal wordpress misunderstanding that has to do with language. The wordpress installation “think” it needs an update because its running in an other language than default.
    But I’m not sure thats it…

    SQLExpress is not yet supported in Version3.x
