• I used sublanguage successfully until update 2.1. My previous version was 1.5.3.
My default language is italian and it works good, but when I switch to english translation WordPress doesn’t found the page

    https://my.domain/chi-siamo (*italian version works*)
https://my.domain/about-us (*english version gives ‘Sorry but the requested page was not found’)

In editing mode I can correctly manage original and translated version.
It seem that can convert permalink to corrispondent translation.
My current WordPress version is 4.7.4

At the moment, I downgrade to working version 1.5.3, but I hope it will be a fix in next realease

  • Hello,

I release a new version (2.2). I am not sure what caused the problem you described, but I fixed a few things, maybe it will make things work for you now. Otherwise please ask again.

Also after updating please visit the Sublanguage Settings page (Settings > Sublanguage) and check if you got a notice message.

After some tests, I verify that Sublanguage stop working with another plugin that i use. This is ‘All-in-One Event Calendar’.
I test it on a fresh WordPress installation:
    1) Install wordpress
    2) Install Sublanguage and activate
    3) Configure a new language
    4) Create translated page
    5) Test translated page and it works!
    6) Install ‘All in one event calendar’ and activate
    7) Translated page stop working with ‘ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS’ error.
    8) Deactivate ‘All-in-One Event Calendar’ plugin
    9) Translated page still not works
    10) Delete ‘All-in-One Event Calendar’ plugin.
    11 )Translated page works!

    Thanx for your investigations.

I had a look on this plugin All-in-One Event Calendar, and it appears it is using a kind of cache system based on url (probably for performance reason) that completely blocks Sublanguage (as well as any plugin that would need to play with url rewrite…). I don’t think there is a way to fix it except by disabling pretty permalinks.
