Problem updating 4.0 to 4.1

  • I am attempting to upgrade 4.0 to 4.1. When I push the “Update Now” button the form for the FTP account details appears for a split second but then immediately redirects to “Welcome to WordPress 4.0” It does not give me any time to input my FTP account information and I am definitely not hitting the submit button.

    When I install a new theme the form for the FTP account information comes up and I am able to properly enter my details and it works correctly. It seems this issue is only when upgrading WordPress.

    What is going on here?
