[Plugin Hypercache] Problem understanding the validation proces

I’m sorry, but it’s me :), but I have some problem understanding the validation proces: Cache invalidation mode. What does is mean exactly and how does it work? Most plugin just state ‘include pages to be cached’ and then you can uncheck the homepage for example. How can I achieve this with Hypercache, especially in my case where the homepage is a static page and the blog page is the next page.
