Problem shop urls

  • Hi support,

    I have a doubts about my link structure.
    I am using woocommerce and I have noticed that all my product links are responding to 2 different urls:
    EXAMPLE
    https://nnhotempo.it/shop/casa/scopa-elettrica/tineco-a11/
    https://nnhotempo.it/casa/scopa-elettrica/tineco-a11/

    I don’t want to use “shop” (which is the product archive created automatically by woocommerce) and I want to stick to the other structure which is /parent-product-category/child-product-category/product

    I have also noticed that Yoast is adding shop to the breadcrumbs structure.

    At the moment in Product Permalinks settings I am using Custom Base: /shop/%product_cat%/

    I also didn’t set any shop page inside woocommerce setting.

    I am using another plugin which is Premmerce and I am using the following settings:

    How can I fix this? And keep only the latter url type?

    Hello Marcello,

    Thanks for reaching out about your shop URLs. First, we are not familiar with the other plugin you are using, Premmerce or how that affects your settings.

    You mentioned that you use a custom base for your product permalinks /shop/%product_cat%/ and you also do not want to use ‘Shop’. If this is the case, I believe the custom base should be set to what you want /parent-product-category/child-product-category/product

    Also, if you do not want to use “shop”, which is the product archive created automatically by WooCommerce, that can be changed in WordPress > WooCommerce > Settings > Product > Shop Page.

    Finally, for your site’s health and safety, we recommend creating regular backups of your site and database. This is especially important before making important changes on your website. Learn more about the benefits of regular backups.

    Hi Maybellyne and thank you for your reply.

    I have figured out that at the end it is not big deal since WordPress add canonical url, but what I really want to do is eliminating “shop” from the Yoast breadcrumbs.
    I have heard that there is a code to add to function.php, can you show me the way to do it?
