Problem sharing posts on LinkedIn

  • Old blog posts: Facebook and LinkedIn both resolve the URL to show the blog post excerpt and image in both the preview and after shared. This still works with new shares of old posts. (e.g. old post)

    New blog posts: Facebook works, but LinkedIn does not. On LinkedIn, it just shows the domain part of the URL and that is it. (e.g. new post)

    The only thing I can think of that is different is that it was a different contributor that uploaded the text content. But I am the one who uploads photos and actually publishes the posts.


    Note:     I see the same behavior regardless of whether I am pasting in the URL or a URL created with a URL shortener. I am not using any helper apps to do the sharing.

    No. I am directly pasting the URL for the post into the “Share an Update” box on LinkedIn.

    Did you ever get this resolved? I’m experiencing same issue. G+ and FB previews work fine, but not LinkedIn.

    I’ve tried disabling all the plugins. I do run custom themes but can’t find anything that would be preventing the post from getting the preview.

    It is working again, but I have no idea why. The only change I know of is that I upgraded to the latest version of WP. Wish I could be more helpful.
