Problem setting up my second wordpress blog

  • Good Afternoon,

    I have an existing wordpress blog.

    Setup my 1st blog, no problem, but my second blog, i kind of forgot something, i just cant get in started at the installation stage.

    Ok, i have my domain name already,
    My host has add my new domain name into my existing account with them, that means, 1 host, 2 domain name.

    Ok, after this, what should i do?

    I was reading the installation guide, install the software, which i did, then change the “config-sample.php”, ok this part i have problem and cant move forward anymore.

    Additional information:

    I am using a host which using directmail instead of cpanel, and i am using filezilla to manage my files.

  • Have you got a link to the second domain you are trying to install it on and the error you are getting?

    The 2nd domain name that is setup should have a folder of its own and that is where you will install the 2nd blog.

    To govpatel: i looked into directmail and saw the 2nd domain name, but i do not know what to do next. I was trying to follow what the installation guide had said but there is no advise on directmail.

    Please give me some direction, has been trying to get friends to help but all very busy with work…

    I do not know what directmail is but if you can log in with ftp check see if there a folder created for your add on domain name it could be in root or Home

    I am using filezilla, does it means my ftp is filezilla?

    I dont see my name domain name in the filezilla… did i miss a step ?

    yes filezilla is a one of ftp program FTP stands File Transfer Protocol

    You can not add a domain name using ftp you need log in server to add a domain name.

    Oh ok, so my problem actually is at the server side.

    When I login to my server I do see my second domain name in there, but I do not know how to check if it is properly installed. For, if it is good, I would be able to see it in my FTP.

    Any chance you can advise how to go about adding my second domain name into my server?

    Is this a cpanel host if so there should a icon along with others addon domain in Domain category click on that.

    When you log in in your host account and click on 2nd domain name what do you see

    In Ftp you will not see the domain name as it is in folder and
    and you should see the folder that was created when you added domain name.
