It seems I have tried every combination in the world but ‘incoming’ isn’t working.

    ‘Outgoing’ works fine.

Should I be using the Gmail setting OR imap?

Using both I get something like this…

Can not connect to the server: imap.googlemail.com. Please, check your setting.Connection error: Can not authenticate to IMAP server: [ALERT] Please log in via your web browser: https://support.google.com/mail/acco

Google support says I should use ‘imap.gmail.com’ (I’ve tried that AND googlemail.com)

I’ve even turned this on – ‘Access for less secure apps has been turned on’

    The Website is https://personalcomputerteacher.com/

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello

Thank you for contacting us. Telling the truth, now we are changing incoming mail settings, because we received a few similar requests.
That’s why we suggest following steps:

    1. Username: gmail adress
    2. Protocol: IMAP
    3. Host: imap.gmail.com
    4. Passward:
    5. Port: 993
    6. Encryption: SSL

    7. Save changes (ATTENTION)
    8. “Check configuration”

Hope, it will be helpful, but anyway please let us know about results.

    Thanks for the reply.

I updated the plugin, then I tried again double checking the above and still got this message –
“Can not connect to the server: imap.gmail.com. Please, check your setting.Connection error: Can not authenticate to IMAP server: [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure)”

    Thanks for your help.
