I wan to install WordPress locally on my pc/Windows XP. Running xampp-control the Apache switches off immediately, so I cannot use my localhostpage.
    Any recommendations?

  • XP what? Home? Pro?
Run the port-check file in the xampp directory?
    Tried the xampp forums?

And make sure if it’s Pro that you’ve disabled windows’ own inbuilt server.

    I realized I didn’t mention the solution:
I ran the port check file and found out that the Apache (html) was taken by Skype, so I shut Skype down and everything went smoothly.
    Thanks again.
