I made a new wordpress install.
I made the changes in wp-config to activate multisite

Before activating the network setup, I want to remove the www from my url.
This because I want to use sub domains with my multi-site.

According to the codex I changed the database, removed www at the 2 mentioned fields. But then I can not get access to the website anymore

I searched the forums, but I can’t find a solution which is working.

My provider support the possibility to access the website without www.

    Any suggestions?

  • You can try going to settings > general and set the WordPress URL and Site URL to your domain without the ‘www’.

If that does not work you will need to edit .htaccess but try that first ??

I also tried to change through settings > general etc. Did not work.

There is no .htaccess in my directory? Could this be the problem?

Are you on Windows or Linux hosting?

    Windows 7.
I have undo the changes in wp-config to activate multisite.
    I have changed permalinks.
There is a .htacces file know.

I have deleted the www in settings.
I checked the changes in the database, they have changed.

    So if I dot site/wp-login.php.
I can login, you see only text.
After logging in , wordpress can not access the proper url.

In the end the problem was located at the server-site.
    Keith thanks for your time.
