Problem: Package results in old version of site within staging server.

First time user of Duplicator; am finally attempting to create a staging site instead of the risky wild west management currently in use. Am experimenting with the LocalByFlyWheel staging environment, so the following error may be from all the fumbling learning that system along with this plugin.

The weird error: The staging site shows an old version of my site. Missing some of the latest product items (WooCommerce) added within the last few months and has the old color settings and old images from the initial setup of the site.

When making the package used the defaults, no filters, so am unusable to account for how in the world the backup package would result in an old version.

Please advise what steps to take to ensure a backup package is capturing the latest version and all changes to the site.

  • That is a bit odd… Not 100% sure I haven’t heard of the issue before. You might check the database.sql file to make sure an older version wasn’t left in the root for your install. Typically that would only happen if a ‘Manual Extraction’ was attempted and the old DB file was left inside the root directory (which is pretty rare).
