Problem migrating WordPress from mariadb to percona mysql
-
Hi there,
Need some help please. I’m busy migrating a client website running WooCommerce from the client hosting to my hosting. This is to make several important changes as well as testing the changes before committing the changes to the “live” website.
I’m using Duplicator free plugin to do this as it is my go to solution for migrations. However, while validating the package on my hosting I was presented with these warnings:
STATUS
The current database engine is?[Percona 5.7.23]?while the host database engine was?[MariaDB 10.4.28].?In some cases this might cause problems with the migration.
(The Percona db is provided by my hosting and the MariaDB is my client’s hosting.)DETAILS
Some versions of different database engines are not compatible with each other, which might cause problems with the database import. We suggest continuing the install as usual. In case there are problems with the database install please consult the links in the troubleshoot section to find out which features are not compatible.
Unfortunately, 12 tables are flagged for removal which is of concern. Here is the list:
DETAILS
All tables flagged for removal are listed below:
- VhtwqpYT_commentmeta
- VhtwqpYT_comments
- VhtwqpYT_links
- VhtwqpYT_options
- VhtwqpYT_postmeta
- VhtwqpYT_posts
- VhtwqpYT_term_relationships
- VhtwqpYT_term_taxonomy
- VhtwqpYT_termmeta
- VhtwqpYT_terms
- VhtwqpYT_usermeta
- VhtwqpYT_users
Being a WooCommerce website makes me super anxious about continuing with the migration. I’m worried about making any of the desired changes on my hosting (Percona db) because I don’t know what impact it will have on the finished website. Especially considering the fact that the changes have to work on the client’s website running MariaDB.
I’m not a database guru so I don’t know which way to turn. I will highly appreciate any guidance here.
Kind regards,
Greg
