• I might have a basic misunderstanding of google oauth and wordpress, but I’m running into some weird behavior with this plugin.

I’m trying to get google oauth to work in my wordpress staging site. I have multiple accounts with google, but it’s only letting me log into one. Well actually, if I press the one that it lets me log into, it says “you are already logged in”. I think this is because my account with wordpress uses that gmail address?

If I try to log in with another google account, it never logs in, it just returns to my homepage where it says “please login”.

Why would it be behaving this way? Is it because I’m logged into wordpress as a collaborator with that gmail account? And if so, how do I get around that to test this plugin?

Once you log into Google, you will remain logged in with that account until you specifically log out of Google or close all browser windows to terminate your logged in status. WP-OAuth will recognize that you’re still logged into this Google account and attempt to match an existing WordPress account which may have been registered using that Google account.

If you want to experiment with two Google accounts on one computer, try opening an Incognito window. That should create a separate session, where you can log into a separate Google account and register a separate WordPress account with it through WP-OAuth.
