• I hope this is the right place fore me question. I recently installed and activated a captcha plugin for my website (gracechurchaiken.com). I checked that the feature worked and everything seemed to be working properly. When trying to log in the next day I recieved the following message:
“Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 874 is not allowed to access /tmp owned by uid 0 in /home/acts18we/public_html/gracechurchaiken.com/wp-content/plugins/captcha/captcha.php on line 405

Fatal error: session_start() [function.session-start]: Failed to initialize storage module: files (path: ) in /home/acts18we/public_html/gracechurchaiken.com/wp-content/plugins/captcha/captcha.php on line 405″

I assume the problem is with the plugin, but I cannot even get to the log in screen so there’s no way for me to deactivate it.

Has anyone encountered the same problem?

  • Not that this is helpful, but at least you know you’re not alone. I can’t access my site admin AT ALL. Nothing. No error message. Just a plain white screen. I hope someone can fix this soon! Good luck to you!

Remove the captcha plugin accessing your hosting account via FTP or loging in at your control panel/ File Manager.

    Hi gracechurch.
I had the same problem, i activated bbpress plugin on my website and wasnt able to access my dashboard at all!
Jus removed it using FTP and i am back on the dashboard!
