Problem linking to pages

    I’ve written a couple pages [including the default ‘About’] and they show up in the list of pages in the sidebar, but when I click on the link to go here:

    https://gimmethatremote.com/about/

    I get a 404

    My posts are working fine and here is my permalink structure:

    /%category%/%postname%/

    I get same result in 1.5 and 2.0 so I don’t think it’s related to that.

    My appologies if this is a total newb question and thanks a lot for any help,

  • Is your .htaccess writable
    or
    Are you using permalinks generated by 2.0 ?

    Permalinks are generated by 2.0 [the site I linked to is 2.0]

    Every Page will get a 404 – if the .htaccess is not writable when you create it. At least this is how it worked till now.

    I made sure the .htaccess file was writable and created a couple new pages but they still 404.

    The .htaccess was the same before and after the new pages were created.

    Resolved…I had copied the .htaccess file from 1.5 and put it in the 2.0 setup…this doesn’t work, the file needs to be created in 2.0.
