Problem: Laguage switching on home page

  • Hi,
    I’m using polylang on my wordpress-site. Thanks for the Addon!
    I have one question: switching the language on the homepage from English to German and back doesn’t work properly. If I swtich to English and then try to switch back to German it doesn’t work so I have to go to other links on my website in order to be able to switch the language.
    Could anyone here check on that?

    Or tell me what is maybe misconfigured?

    I had trouble from the begin on because it alwasy switched the home page to English, even though German was set to be the default language. So I had to do this in order to force German as standard language:

    I hope it has nothing to do with my problem described here…

    PS now I tried to switch the home page to a static page and It doesn’t load the German version on any site anymore!
    For exaple this; https://www.goodbye-facebook.org/zitate
    Switches to this automatically: https://www.goodbye-facebook.org/en/quotes/

    PS I changed back the “choose-lang.php” and now it seems to work. But there sometimes seem to be issues with the Standard prestet language for the home page. The user should be able to make it default and make the site ignore all browser settings concerning the default language (auto detect etc.)
