Problem Installing Plugins

  • I had plugins installed. went to install another one. Must have done something wrong in my cpanel because when I went back to wordpress to install it, this is the message I got: Installing Plugin from uploaded file: social-media-widget.2.9.7.zip

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Could not create directory. /home/dawnsmar/public_html/wp-content/plugins/social-media-widget/

    Plugin install failed.
    Can anyone help me please? Thank you.

  • does it help to know you aren’t alone.. so far nothing works to fix this.

    Are you prompted with an FTP user name and password? I’m not and then it promptly fails. if there were a way to re-enter the WordPress plugin update process ftp password, i think my system would work again.
