Problem installing any plugin

  • Hello!

    I’m having big problems installing any plugin on my site. When I activate a plugin the whole site shuts down with a fatal error.

    An Example: vipers_videoquicktags 3.0.0:

    Warning: main(resources/buttonsnap.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/students/andmell/public_html/wp-content/plugins/vipers_videoquicktags/vipers_videoquicktags.php on line 13

    I’ve tried over 20 plugins and all of them can’t be that buggy, something is wrong with my site.

  • As a generalized FYI, wp isn’t particularly happy with subdomains and redirects. I’ve tried about a million different things over time, and not once have I been able to get wp to work properly setup on a subdomain. Plugins, posts, permalinks, all of it’s problematic.

    Just for understanding purposes only..but, what exactly do you mean by “subdomains” Vicki? Cause I made up two already, and installed WordPress on them.. =/

    Maybe the “subdomains” you’re talking about, are setup a little differently then the ones I made up..but, they are “classified” as subdomains lol! =) I dunno..I just woke up a few minutes ago..so, I might be a little space-cadetish yet haha.. =P

    Maybe it’s going to work better in 2.1 – I’ve tried it with 1.5 and 2.0, then gave up.

    And it may have something to do with how different hosts handle the redirects as well.

    Oh ok..well, I didn’t wanna give this one subdomain name out really.. but, it’s running 2.0.2 currently.. =) (No, this isn’t really, the theme I’ve been working on lol, this was a “testing/starting” grounds though..)

    That subdomain will be removed though, eventually..and I’ll put up another one later..with 2.0.4. =)

    Tried another host, without subdomain. Every plugin installs with no problem at all ??
