    I am trying to install WordPress and have got as far as uploading the files onto my remote site. However, I am struggling to install the programme. When I type in my address with wp-admin/install.php, it comes up with the following:

    Warning: require_once(/homepages/37/d372310960/htdocs/wp-load.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/37/d372310960/htdocs/wp-admin/install.php on line 36

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/homepages/37/d372310960/htdocs/wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php5′) in /homepages/37/d372310960/htdocs/wp-admin/install.php on line 36

    I was just wondering if anyone on this could tell me why it is doing this and how I could resolve it.

    Kind regards,
    Peter Roberts

  • You may have some corrupt files. Try re-uploading all files & folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Thanks that’s worked to a degree, but now it is telling me this:

    Error 403 – Forbidden

    You tried to access a document for which you don’t have privileges.

    Any ideas? Cheers

    What are you trying to access?

    Just my website- https://www.making-money-online.org. I’m not sure what is going wrong? Have you ever heard of anything like this?

    Try asking your hosts for assistance. Looks like there’s a permissions problem somewhere.

    It looks like you may be getting some interference from the default files the web host put in your public-html. That is just a guess based one custom error markup and 404 redirect and such.

    I would try completely cleaning out the public-html folder and then uploading your wordpress files into the clean directory. (If you haven’t tried this already).

    Thanks everyone, I contacted 1&1 and it turned out that I had the domain pointing to the wrong folder. I should have had it pointing to wordpress/wordpress, but I only had it directed at the folder called wordpress. All is resolved now.

    Kind regards, Peter Roberts
