    Hi there,

I was running Google Apps Login without any problem until I put in place the “Theme My Login” plugin.

Now, although I have re-initialized the Google credentials and back-url, when I try to login through GALogin, it gets me to the Google authorization page, then when I click “accep” it just get me back to the login page (site-url/login/) without logging me in.

Any known incompatibility with Theme My Login? Any idea about this problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Yves.

  • Yves,

Thank you for your message. I just sent you an email about this actually.

We have had incompatibilities with Theme My Login reported in the past, so I asked you for more details of your requirements in my email to see if we know any alternative plugins.

I’ll also add Theme My Login to the incompatibility list in our FAQ, or see if there is any way to suggest changes that might make them work together better in the future.

    Regards,

    Dan

Was there any resolution to this issue? I’m also using TML and I’m having the same issue: The user presses ‘Login with Google’, accepts the authentication, and then they’re returned to the login page. The user is never logged in throughout this process.

The login page created by TML is mysite/login/ instead of mysite/wp-login.php. To begin with, I kept getting a URI error stating that mysite/login/ was not listed in the allowed URIs. I added it to the accepted URIs in my Client ID and it would allow it to proceed, but that’s when it started returning the user to the /login/ page without logging them in.

    Thank you for your message.

As far as I know, TML still works in the same way, which is unfortunately too far away from the standard WordPress login functionality to enable other plugins to hook into it in the way that WordPress is designed to be extended.

The easiest way to add a “Login via Google” button to an arbitrary page is to simply link to /wp-login.php?gaautologin=true

That will send the user straight into the Google login flow.

I hope this helps – please send me an email if you have more details to discuss: [email protected].

    Regards,

    Dan

I agree that TML is difficult to integrate with other plugins, and on my side I no longer use it for this reason.
