• Hello Everyone, We build large sites for clients, often with a couple of hundred pages. An ongoing issue is when we/clients search for a page within the dashboard under ‘All Pages’ it doesn’t always come up in the results. The search is very hit and miss. Sometimes in works, other times the page you’re looking for doesn’t come up. For instance, on one of our sites if you search ‘Board of Trustees’ or ‘Trustees’ or ‘Board’ nothing comes up, even though there is a published page with the title ‘Board of Trustees’ and permalink /board-of-trustees. Many other results come up but not the page of the actual search terms.

This is a problem we’ve had for years and a current client is getting irate about it. Why doesn’t the page search always work? Does anyone know what is causing the issue? Is this something WordPress can fix?

To be clear this is the search found on all WP sites: Dashboard > Pages > All Pages

    Thanks in Advance
    Regards: Zaina

To start, I’ll check Post & Page Visibility setting.

For example, If the page is set as “Private” – it will be visible only to blog Editors and Administrators. Private posts are not visible in the Reader, feeds, or in any search. It is also not sent via email to your followers.
