Problem getting the RRS follow button & mail service follow buttons to work
-
My site https://www.annacotton.co.uk is self hosted. I’m using www.remarpro.com
I have downloaded the Social Media feather plugin and some aspects of it are working fine for me. Ie: the Twitter follow button.
However, I want people to a) have the option to follow the blog section by the simple press of a button b) have the option to subscribe to my blog by entering their email address and subsequently receiving notifications whenever I post a new blog entry.
I therefore selected RSS Service “Follow” and added the URL of my blog page, and selected Mail Service “Follow”. There is a field for adding a mail follow link here, but I’m unsure what I am supposed to put in it?
When I view my blog posts, the RSS and Mail Share icons appear under each post, but when I click them, nothing happens. When other people click them, nothing happens either!
A few of my friends have WordPress.com blogs and with them it’s a simple case of clicking the follow buttons on their sites and their posts are automatically added to my reader. Is it possible to do this within www.remarpro.com and if so, how? If not, where do people see my posts when they follow them? How can I see who is following my posts?
With regards to getting people to enter their email address so that when I post new content they will get notified of it with a link to the posts, how do I set this up? Will I be able to see their email addresses? Is the Mail Share button even the right button for doing this?
This is all new to me, so if anyone would be willing to explain in layman’s terms what I’m doing wrong, I would be most grateful!
