Hello, there is a problem with the wording in French: “List”, “Month” and “Day” in the box where you can change the appearance of the events should be “Liste”, “Mois” and “Jour”. Instead it’s “List”, “Month” and “Jour” (half English, half French). How can I fix this problem to use the extension properly in French? I tried to find the terms on Loco Translate, but couldn’t detect any mistake in the translations there.

    Hi,

I have the same problem. The cause is Manager::prepare_view_label trying to translate Month and List (uppercase) which have no translations. There are translations for month and list (lowercase) however. As a temporary fix, I changed line 408 of Manager.php to $label = ucfirst( __( $slug, $domain ) );.

    Best regards

Hi @mbovel @bendl, apologies for the delay here, I’m back now.

We just released The Events Calendar 6.0.4. We fixed quite a few errors in this release, and it may have solved this issue as well. Please update and let us know if that fixes the issue here.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server and keep a working backup of your website.

Also, please clear any caching for both third-party plugins and server-side (if you have any). It would also be good to flush permalinks.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz

Hi @abzlevelup, thank you for your update. The mentioned texts are in English now which is better than a mix of both languages, but still, I would have preferred them in French, such as the rest of the French version. Same for “today” which is also in English.

    Ben

Hi @bendl, no worries. Let’s see, just to be clear and if I understand correctly, the page is in English, and you’d want to mix it with French, like, for example, “Today”?

Rather than translation, could you try doing the WordPress way of changing the wording on a page? See the article here, to learn more → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

Let me know if that helps.

Hi @abzlevelup ! No, the page is actually in French, except some words (“List”, “Month”, “Day” in the research field, as well as “Today” in the line where you choose the period). I’d like to have everything in French, as the whole website is in French.

Hi @bendl, gotcha. Apologies for the confusion there. With the List, Month, and Day translation, we’ve released a fix for this one in version 6.0.4. Were you able to update the plugin?

See the release notes here with the heading Translations:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/release-notes/the-events-calendar/the-events-calendar-6-0-4/

Also, could you try clicking on the Sync button under Loco Translate → The Events Calendar → French (France) → Sync Button?

    See the screen recording here:

Let me know if that helps.

Hi @abzlevelup, thank you for your help! I followed the different steps. Unfortunately, it didn’t change the translations on the website.

I took a screenshot to show you the precise location (in orange):

Hi @bendl, I was able to update it via Loco Translate. See the screen recording here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQu4grjz. ??

Could you also try re-installing Loco Translate and see if that makes a difference?
