Problem: Fatal error trying to activate

  • Upgraded to the Schedules and Scoreboards plugin and had to deactivate the Coaches plugin for the Colors admin page to have effect. When i went to reactivate the Coaches plugin to see if the problem still existed i got a fatal error. I deleted the Coaches plugin and reinstalled and get the following error trying to activate:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare mstw_build_css_rule() (previously declared in /home/content/96/8112196/html/landrumbaseball/wp-content/plugins/mstw-schedules-scoreboards/includes/mstw-utility-functions.php:124) in /home/content/96/8112196/html/landrumbaseball/wp-content/plugins/coaching-staffs/mstw-coaching-staffs.php on line 195

    By deactivating the Schedules and Scoreboards plugin i was able to Activate the Coaching Staffs plugin. I then reactivated the Schedules and Scoreboards plugin but my color options for the Schedule and Scoreboards plugin will not set to the Color values i have specified in the Admin page for the Schedules and Scoreboards plugin. As soon as the coaching staff plugin is deactivated the color settings work again.

    Yes, the Coaching Staffs plugin causes a couple of conflicts. See the “Known Bugs” man page.

    I have not see the color settings problem, but it could very well be related to the mstw_build_css_rule() conflict. The order the plugins are loaded makes a difference (it shouldn’t but it does until I fix Coaching Staffs). You might try installing the dev tree version of Coaching Staffs as described in the referenced man page.

    Let me know how it goes. I will take a look at it tomorrow.

    I looked at this a bit more. It works fine on the MSTW plugin development site.

    There definitely is an issue with loading order, and I believe that is what’s causing the color problem. I suggest you delete the Coaching Staffs plugin completely, then re-install it. (Your data should not be deleted, but always backup anyway, just to be safe. The plugin’s stylesheet will be over-written, and any customization to the styles WILL BE LOST. So back that one up for sure.)
