Problem downloading Plug-ins

I am having somewhat of a problem downloading plugins. Once I download the plugins it stays on a screen that says “Downloading plugin” forever. I then go to my inactive plugins and the plugin is present and I can activate it and then the plugin actually works. I am just wondering if maybe the plugin may not be working correctly. It used to confirm the download for me.
