Problem displaying the recent votes when you have cache enabled

  • Hello!

    I installed the plugin on my new site and it looks awesome, simple, clean, great job there! I also love the functionality to display the rating above post content.

    However, when I tested it, I noticed the newest votes don’t count. For example, on a post I had 1 rating and I gave it a second rating, in that moment it showed 2 votes. However, when I refresh the page, or visited it again after a moment, it shows 1 vote again and the rating score is back to how it was.

    I mention I use wp-rocket as caching plugin. Could the rating plugin enter in conflict with cache plugins?

    I forgot to mention that new votes and rating appear just after I clear the cache. But ofc, it’s impossible to delete the cache each time someone votes.

    Hello.
    I’m glad you like the plugin. It’s definitely an issue with cache (object cache probably) not being invalidated when it should be.
    Do you have a setting to enable object cache in that plugin? Can you, for the sake of experiment, disable object cache, clear cache and see if rating will display properly? If it does, I’ll try to figure out how to help you with this problem.

    Hello and thanks for replying!

    I use WP-Rocket and it doesn’t have Object cache. It has a few options like:
    Excluded JavaScript Files, Excluded CSS Files, Never Cache Cookies (and they have a typing space underneath where you can write what not to cache).

    Could something be typed in there in order to prevent the caching of the votes?
