• My file manager info indicates I have permission to create and write to wp-content subdirectories but, when I attempt to create a gallery, I get the following error message:

Could not write to file. Please check filesystem permissions.
    Filename: /home/pcya/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/gallery/2015-photos

Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong?
    Thanks!
    John

@jwn4157 – Does that specific folder’s permissions allow your WordPress user to write to it?

If it does, you may need to look into using our current public beta (https://nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-latest-beta/) or wait for it to be “officially” released next week.

    Thanks!

Many thanks for the reply, Cais! Yes, I believe the permission settings give me write access, which is why this is puzzling.
I assume that when the official release occurs I will receive an “update plug-in” notification and I will definitely give it a try. All we need for our non-profit site is a basic photo gallery mechanism to help us stay better organized.
    THanks again.
    regards

@jwn4157 – Yes, once the “stable release” version of the plugin has been uploaded to the WordPress Plugin repository you should see a notice under Dashboard > Updates showing NextGEN Gallery has updates available.
