• I have tried to install Jetpack on a website. I get the following message. Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible
Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 404].
Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com.
If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: https://jetpack.me/support/

I have access to my Cpanel, can you provide any instructions on how to clear this issue up.

    Thank you.

Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

We use your site’s xmlrpc.php to communicate with your site. The error is saying that this file isn’t there, or at least not where we’d expect to find it.

    Cheers!

    Yup—we’re expecting your xmlrpc.php file at https://longislandcheaphosting.com/xmlrpc.php which is returning a 404.

Are you using another plugin that is blocking access to the file or have otherwise blocked access to it?

    Cheers!

I have deactivated all my plugs, which are Aksimet, Ecwid Shopping Cart,WordPress SEO and Pricing Table in addition to the Jetpack plugin. Tried the Jetpack plugin as the only activated plugin and still have the problem.

    Thanks!

Incidently, I searched my file manager and located the file in my public_html file. Should I do something with that file?

    Thanks!

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

If the file is there, and if it is not blocked by a security plugin, I’d suggest getting in touch with your host and asking them if they do anything to block access to that file at the moment.

Let us know how it goes.
