Problem – bxslider goes backwards for one frame then resumes direction

If someone is able to shed any light on this bizarre issue, i would be eternally grateful. I have the Emporium theme, which includes the javascript bxslider to display portfolio items and allow you to scroll through them all on the main page. Its an excellent feature, but is malfuntioning in a very odd way which is kinda tricky to describe:

When you click to scroll right from the first screen, it erroneously scrolls left instead, to the last screen. If you then click to scroll right again, it resumes the correct direction and scrolls right, back to the first screen. From here it will operate as expected until it reaches the last screen, then when you scroll right from there, it briefly goes to a blank screen, then flicks to the first screen. Almost like it has fallen off the cycle. From here you are back to square 1, whereby it will scroll backwards on the first scroll as before.

The easiest way to see the issue is to go to https://www.scorpiontv.com and click the small pink “right arrow” a few times to cycle through the loop. It will become immediately apparrent what is wrong.

This is a huge issue for the website, so if anyone is able to help i would really appreciate it.

NOTE: I have increaced the maximum number of slides per screen and slides displayed on the theme-options.php page, but that is the only modification i have made to the sliders functionality, outside of modifying how the poortfolios are displayed via the homeracentPort.php screen.
