• Dear friends. I have a very important and existential problem for myself and my company. I made a PHP update from 5.3 to 7.2 on my host on January 20, 2020 and updated WordPress plugins and themes. After that the page is no longer displayed correctly.

I made than a backup before January 20, 2020 (before the problem that occurred), but after the backup, the page is no longer displayed as it used to be. I have tried unsuccessfully through a web developer in the past two months, but without success! Now the request is if someone can help me with, because I’m resigned. It would be enough for me if I could at least restore the website before January 20th, 2020.

I also did 3 different backups before I made the WordPress update and problem. I have locally: FTP backup / myPHP backup / WordPress BAckup

Many thanks in advance friends !!

    Best regards
    dalailama

  • I had a similar issue with a website. After updates the site didn’t function or look the same.
I just had to manually resolve all the issues and then recode anything that didn’t fix – there is no other way.
You can go back BUT eventually, you’ll have to come forward so best to work through it now.

But one more question; Is it possible to reset WordPress back to the old mode, in my case before the problem arose?

I mean, Is it possible to run WordPress in the older version, so It would be possible for me to integrate the backup files into the old WordPress version. After that it would be easier to find someone who will be recognize the old but runnig version of my website…

yes, but you have to restore the old files and database from a backup.
