For the Readability analysis, I can see the score inside the editor of a single post (in the Publish section to the right and in the part for Yoast SEO at the bottom) or in the Posts page where all the posts are listed. And my problem is that, the Readability score of a certain post is somehow different in these two places.

At first, two blog posts got the OK score (orange) inside the editor, but the Good score (green) in the Posts page. Trust me, I don’t know why.
And later, when I edited the posts, they got the Good score inside the editor, but the OK one in the Posts page!!!

Could anyone tell me what happened?

  • Hi,

That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict as something may be affecting the JavaScript Yoast uses to show the colored dots. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    2. Check for conflicts.
    3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.

If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your reply. The problem has developed so weirdly but I think it somewhat makes sense. As I edited the posts and bettered them in terms of readability, they both got the readability green dot in the Posts page (of course they still got the same green dots inside the editors).

So I started to think that this can be a kind of “nearly green”. Say, a post scores a point that is nearly enough to get a green dot so it’s labeled green here and orange there? Does it make sense?

The readability score should show the same colour on both the all posts page and the editor screen. Were you able to perform a conflict check? If so, what were the results?

On the other hand, are you using Visual Composer on your website? We ask as we have an open bug report related to the issue you’re experiencing which only happens when Visual Composer is active: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/5809
