Probably the best, but far from great
-
I’ve tried a few different RSVP plugins and this one definitely appears to be the best of the ones I’ve found so far, but it is far from great. It is definitely a great start, but has a lot of bugs in it and the Support doesn’t appear to be active.
It has a lot of nice features that other plug-ins don’t have, like the ability to add custom questions, the ability to upload/download guest lists and to have guests add additional guests.
But the bugs within them make these features less than ideal because they don’t work as expected. For example, if a guest wants to add or RSVP another guest when they RSVP, this additional guest gets added as a new guest even if that guest exists. Then you have duplicates. Also, when the email is sent saying that a guest RSVP’d, it only reports on the main guest that RSVP’d, not any additional guests that they added/RSVP’d at the same time. This may not be a problem in a one-off, but with dozens or hundreds of guests, this creates extra confusion/work.
Another thing is that if you create your own custom questions using Radio or Multiple Choice, the answers are all listed on the same line. This behavior is different than the default questions, where the answers are each on their own line.
Also, if you mistakenly click the “add additional guest” button while RSVP’ing, there is no way to cancel/close this. So if your guests decide not to add additional guests or if they click it by accident, they must reload the page and start their RSVP over again.
Again, the plugin appears to have more features than other plug-ins, which is great, but it still has work to do before I would consider it great. Great concept, not so great application.
