Probably a simple photo uploading question

  • Hello

    I have just started my own blog I am used to uploading photos from my computer using the browse function. But on my blog site this is not offered. The first option is ‘choose files to upload’ but when I click on it nothing happens. There is nowhere I can go to browse from my computer.

    I hope someone can help me please?

  • Do you have Flash installed within your web browser? even if you don;lt have Flash, you should see a link immediately below the “Choose files to upload”:

    Try the Browser uploader instead.

    Use that link for the basic, non-Flash uploader.

    I have tried to access my photo uploading via another computer and it works so it must be something on my computer. When I click on the button ‘choose files to upload’ the pop up window does not appear? I don’t think I have flash installed but who knows? Will this be the problem?

    No. You can still use the basic Browser Uploader that I mentioned above. The only downside is that you can only upload 1 file at a time. The Flash uploader gives you the option to upload multiple files in one go. But I managed with the Browser Uploader for ages because I didn’t want to install Flash in my preferred web browser.

    (I later gave in but installed Flashblock as well. Can’t you tell that I hate sites that abuse Flash?)
