I saw there was a new update for the iPanorma.
I updated and my pro version is deleted and replace by the Lite version.
How can I get the new pro update and is it normal that I have to update this manually or is this an error and should the pro version be updated instead of the Lite version!?

Hello. You should download the new pro version from CodeCanyon and install it manually.

Oh, by the way, after I updated, not only was the pro version replaced by the lite version, the plugin was also deactivated.

I recomend to delete, then install the pro. All items will remain.

Did you download the file from Codecanyon/Envato first? (Codecanyon.net) You cannot directly install from Word Press, unless maybe you have upgraded your CodeCanyon/Envato membership?
You should download the zip file, then drag it onto the WordPress installer using the “Add New” then “Upload Plugin”.
You should just be able to delete the free plugin version from WP.

    Hello Kazz2.
I only had the iPanorama Pro folder in the plugins folder.
So the old Lite version was not on my website nor in my plugin folder.
There were no changes in the membership.
WP showed me there’s a new version of the plugin and I updated.
    That’s where it went wrong.
I will now download the new pro version and install manually, but I need to be ‘wide awake’ when a new future update is available.
Not sure if I can lose any of the available tours/data when I ever accidently install the update through WP updates again?

You won’t lose anything. The plugin does not delete data during installation or deactivation. This can only be done by the user himself.

I do not think you will lose anything. I did what you did the first time or two also, then learned that you must always download and install manually.
    Enjoy iPanorama!

Ah, thanks a lot for explaining Kaz ??
May I ask one more question, since I have your attention ??
What size images do you use for your tours?
I have the full size 6538×3264 pixels and I notice that takes a lot of loading time.
Do you use smaller sizes and do they look as good as the full size or are you indeed losing quality then?

I use full size. Note that if you are putting these into WordPress gallery they may be downsized automatically. WP makes several copies of a photo for various “responsive” uses. Maybe you already do, but uploading with FTP prevents this.

Yes, it might take longer to load, but I care more about quality than load time.
I also do not resize mine anymore to the 2×1 ratio. They won’t show up on some older gear, but since mine is more for fun, I don’t really care….

    Some of mine.

If you look at these, you could let me know if the load times are unacceptable for you or not. Never had anyone really say.

Thanks Avirtum (I missed your answers somehow, but thanks for clearing that up!).

@kaz2 Thanks for the link to your tour.
That looks awesome and works really fast.
It made me have a look at the images that I use.
I edited my images to erase the monopod and then I saved the images as jpeg with 100% quality.
My images are ±25 megabytes large each ??
Just saved one again (to test) with 80% and now they are only 2,5 mb large.
That will make a huge difference!

Have a look at my first tour (and only one since I’m still getting to know iPanorama):

This is the one with the large file sizes.

Will save the images again with far lesser image size and than update the tour.
    So glad I asked ??

Just updated the tour with 93% images and it’s a whole lot faster now, especially on my iPhone ??
