Pro Version of CP Google Maps
-
Ummm… How can I buy your commercial pro version of the plugin so I can put multiple markers on one map and also customise the icons?
-
Hi,
You can insert multiple markers on one map with the free version of the plugin too, but you cannot define multiple points in the same post. For example, if you define a point in each post that belongs to a same category, you can insert the map in one of posts, that will include the markers associated to the other posts in the same category.
To use custom icons is the same process in the free and pro version of the plugin, you simply should upload the files of the icons to the following directory:
“/wp-content/plugins/codepeople-post-map/images/icons”
Best regards.
Thanks for your help. I just started working with the free version and I was trying to insert markers based on google maps lattitue and longitude coordinates and when I click verify it always defaults to another nearby location.
The reason its happening is I am getting marine GPS coordinates for a fishing website I am building. Can I put some custom markers with information about the fish caught, titles and some images?
Right now the markers verify to addresses on the nearby land.
Cheers!
Hi,
Google always tries to display the nearest address it knows. Please, read the answer to the question: “Q: After entering an address, and to press the verify button, the address is modified, and the pin is displayed in a different location” in the FAQ page of the plugin.

Thanks, that helped out alot!
Funny thing is, I have made heaps of posts with GPS coordinates (just like how you advised in the FAQ).I think I need to buy your paid version as the map which is inserted on a page only ever shows the two most recent location posts.
Basically I have a bunch of posts with the GPS coordinates manually done and I have given them the same post category.
I insert the CP Google map shortcode into another web page and it displays only the two most recent post locations. Is this a free version restriction?
Thank you.
Hi,
Not really, it is possible limit the number of posts to display on map, in all versions of the plugin. If you want display the points belonging to only two posts in a same category, you have three options:
First option, go to the settings page of plugin, and enter the number 2 in the attribute: “Enter the number of posts to display on the map”.
Second option, go to the post where was inserted the map’s shortcode, and select the attribute: “Use particular settings for this map”, and finally enter the number 2 in the “Enter the number of posts to display on the map” attribute.
Third option, define the value directly in the map’s shortcode, like follow:
[codepeople-post-map points=”2″]
Best regards.
Ok,
Thank you very much! The only ‘nagging’ issue I have is with the way custom markers are handled. After I verify the GPS coordinates and then I have to manually correct them – this is a major task and takes lots of time to set up accurately. If I’m running out of patience setting up 20 locations for my client, I doubt he will have much patience for maintaining the system on his website.
I did investigate the WP Google Maps plugin and placing markers was much more straightforward. If you can make this easier on your plugin, I am sold on it. Otherwise I might have to go with the alternative.
Thanks for all your timely support. It is much appreciated.
Hi,
I’m testing the plugin you mentions in your last ticket, but unfortunately that plugin does not works in multisite WordPress. So, I’ve created a new website for testing. Both plugins are different, in the our you can create maps with multiple options independently of the points, but in this one you should create the specific maps with its points, and the points don’t exist separated of maps.
Could you send me the data of point you are entering, and that Google set in a different location, please?
If you don’t like publish the point’s data in the WordPress forum, you can send me the information through my private support page:

No worries, I can help you out with that. Have a list of some of the GPS locations below:
The Blinker
(Tuna, Snapper, Kingfish, Cobia, Reef Species, Mackeral)
Lat: S 26 40 770 Long: E 153 13 280
Murphy’s Reef
(Snapper, Sweetlip, Pearl Pearch, Moses Pearch, Mackeral, Tuna)
Lat: S 26 41 209 Long: E 153 13 650
Rapper Shoal
(Snapper, Sweetlip, Mackeral)
Lat: S 26 45 410 Long: E 153 09 650
Currimundi Reef
(Snapper, Sweetlip, Tuskfish, Mackeral, Cobia)
Lat: S 26 45 604 Long: E 153 10 869
Currimundi Wide
(Snapper, Pearl Pearch, Tuskfish, Sweetlip, Mackeral, Cobia, Kingfish)
Lat: S 26 46 980 Long: E 153 17 100** You are going to have to modify the lat/long coordinates slightly (e.g. put a negative on the lattitude and also put a decimal point after first two numbers on lat and first three numbers on lon, plus close the spaces). They are straight from a boat GPS system so a bit different format.
Hi rarcher30,
I’ve published right now, an update of the plugin, to allow entering coordinates with GPS format, for the latitude and longitude attributes of points, before pressing the “Verify” button. The previous version allowed only define a latitude and longitude with the format used by Google.
I’ve not modified the version number of the plugin until testing exhaustively the modifications. Please, deactivate and delete the current copy of the plugin from your WordPress, and install it again.
Tip: It is recommended to clear the browser’s cache after reinstall the plugin.
Best regards.
