• Pro addon version stops working if you don’t renew. Not cool, and not how most other paid plugins function. I only needed this for another couple of months, and did not plan to renew.

If you have the pro addon and don’t want to be forced to pay again, be sure to disable automatic updates for both the free version and add on.

  • Hi Tom,

I would like to refer to your review of the plugin and clarify the rules of the subscription of the paid version of the plugin. For context, the design of our product is important. The paid version uses (relies on) the free version.

When you buy the paid (PRO) version, you get support and product updates from us for the next 12 months. This is the time we guarantee that everything will work, and if it doesn’t – we will fix it.

After the 12 months, you can use the plugin, but without the guarantee that in case of a PRO version update, certain features will become unavailable. If you have an active subscription, you sleep soundly. If you don’t have one, well it’s a risk which I assume you decide to take.

For our part, we try to make the plugin compatible for as long as possible. Sometimes – this happened in this case – it is limited.

Flexible Checkout Fields 4.0.x is a major update that adds a lot of new functionalities, but also includes a lot of new code. Hence, the lack of infinite backward compatibility. It is simply impossible for us to do so.

However, I will emphasize that this lack will only occur if you want to continue using paid functionality, and you are not using a subscription. If you have an active subscription – you simply update the plugin and forget about the issue.
